Hello, so glad you could be here!I am a digital artist who specializes in stylized illustrations and 2D character designs. I love to draw fantasy, sci-fi, and create unique and memorable original characters. I have been a working artist for over 10 years and have designed characters and created illustrations for multiple books and comic series, as well as for my own personal projects.I am based in California with my husband and our Aussie Shepherd, Cadet. FAQ
How do I request a commission?Fill out of the waitlist form linked above. Once the form is filled out, I will reach out to you via email when its your turn to begin the process.When/how do I pay for the commision?Any commissions (except sketches) require a 50% payment upfront, and 50% upon commission completion. Completed commissions will have a large watermark on them until the full amount is paid, then the unwatermarked version will be released.
All personal use commissions will have a small watermark on the piece to indicate me as the illustrator. Watermarks will only be removed for commercial pieces. Removing my watermark without permission will violate terms of use.For Sketch commissions only, the full amount must be paid upfront.Kill Fee: Should the commissioner want to cancel the commission at any point after the first sketch has been sent out, the 50% down payment will not be refunded.My Ko-fi is linked below as the method of payment!
I'm interested in a commission but I don't know where to start... what do you recommend?I'm so glad you asked! I offer a variety of commissions so that I can best tailor to what you are looking for. Here are my recommendations:
Looking for a clear, recognizable reference of your character? Try the Half or Full Body Sketch.
Looking for a polished, moody, or emotion evoking portrait of your characters? Try the Half Body Illustration.
Looking to depict your favorite scene from a book? Maybe a battle scene or a first dance? Try the Full Illustration.
Looking for all of the above? You might like The Authors Package...How long will my commission take?I do my best to finish all commissions within a 2-4 week timeframe from email confirmation. Authors packages tend to take a 6-8 week window due to the amount of pieces and time for client feedback and revisions. If you have a tight turnaround for your commission, please let me know your deadline and I will do my best to work with it!How can I get a hi-res version of my commission?All clients are sent the hi-res PNG file upon commission completion. For sketches and solid background illustrations, blank backgrounds are also available upon request.
I currently do not offer psd./clip files of my commissions.What is your policy on revisions?
Sketch Commissions do not include revisions (honest and easily fixable mistakes such as skin/eye color are ok)
All other commissions can request 3 revisions during the sketch stage and up to two revisions after the final piece is completed. Any revisions beyond two once the piece is completed will incur a $10 additional charge per revision. Major changes to the piece such as pose and background cannot be changed at this stage in the process. Please be sure to be as specific as possible with feedback to prevent multiple revision rounds.Who owns the commission?
All rights to the artwork belong to me. Rights to the character belong to their original creator. I will not use any commissions for my own commercial use (selling prints), however, I maintain rights to share the artwork publicly. By commissioning me, you are agreeing to these terms.If you are looking for a commission for commercial use these terms are subject to change. Please review the information listed at the bottom of the page for details!What will/won't you draw?

-Any artwork relating to NFTs/AII reserve the right to decline a commission on the basis of any personal reasons, including any subject matter not explicity outlined in terms.I don't have artwork of my original character. How can I commission you without using a written description?The best way to give me a visual guide for your character would be to:A) Create a collage of different visual aspects of your character i.e. hairstyle, shirt, pants, body type, etc.B) Try to draw your character on paper and send a photo! No matter your skill level, any visual aid is a massive help and will give me the perfect starting point!C) Send links of different parts of your characters design for example:
Shirt: LINK

Commercial InquiryLooking for a commission for commercial use for your book/comic/etc? Please review the types of client use and terms below!
Personal Use: The commission will be used by the client for personal uses such as posting on social media. Digital advertisement is allowed, so long as the artwork itself is not being sold in physical or digital form. The artwork cannot be used to generate any income, or be sold for profit by the commissioner. Artwork is owned by TheRedCrane, but the commissioner is permitted to use the piece for the above stated purposes.Non-Exclusive Commercial Use: The commission will be incorporated into a product that will be sold. This includes book covers, overlays, prints, other merchandise, etc. Artwork is owned by TheRedCrane, but the commissioner is permitted to use the piece for the above stated purposes. The commission cannot resell or transfer these rights unless agreed otherwise. This commission will cost 1.5x the pricing listed.Full Rights Transfer:
This transfers the full rights of the artwork to the commissioner. TheRedCrane will not longer own rights to the artwork, and the commissioner is free to use the artwork however they wish. (The only caveat to this rights transfer is that commissioners are prohibited from using my artwork to resell in the form of NFTs.) This commission will cost 2x the pricing listed.At any time, the client can upgrade their commission type from Personal -> Non-Exclusive -> Full Rights Transfer by paying the remainder of the cost.Terms of use:
Any alteration to the artwork without approval or failure to credit TheRedCrane once the commission is completed is prohibited, and will nullify the terms of use. (This does not apply to Full Rights Transfer.)The commissioner has the right to decide when the artwork is publicly released, and TheRedCrane will honor this timeline. Once the artwork is made public, TheRedCrane reserves rights to share the artwork on their social platforms, but will not use the artwork to generate personal income in the form of merchandising.Requested deadlines are permitted for commercial commissions but must not be less than a two week turnaround.If specific dimensions or resolutions are required for the commission, please request them upfront.The above listed terms of will/wont draw remain the same for all commission types.
